When eight fifth-grade boys shuffled onto the school talent show stage in oversized outfits and goofy expressions, parents in the audience expected a harmless little dance routine and maybe a few polite laughs šŸ˜‚šŸŽ¤

Everything about this is so funny, but the ending is gold.

School talent shows are common and the audience always has fun attending them.

While some of these talent shows are not even proper contests, but rather performances, they are always fun to watch and exciting to take part in.

Besides the fun, however, they also serve another purpose. They are a great opportunity for teachers to showcase their students, while they also help the participants build their confidence. At the same time, it brings the community together, which is always a good thing.

With a quick search on YouTube, it’s easy to find students’ performances during such events, and while many of them are entertaining and interesting, there are some that stand out.

Just like the performance that 5th graders in Stillwater, Oklahoma, gave a few years ago.

The students, boys dressed up as elderly women, danced to the rhythm of ā€œSingle Ladies (Put a Ring on Itā€ by Beyonce. The audience that was taken aback when the ā€œgrandmasā€ entered the stage, soon started laughing and cheering for the students.

When the curtain opens, eight elderly women appear on stage, hardly walking, and all of them use walkers, canes, or crutches.

At some point, they all throw away their walking aids, and wait for the song to start.

Once Beyonce starts singing ā€œAll the single ladiesā€, the grandmas start waving their left hands, where each of them is wearing a ring.

The audience starts laughing, and it is obvious that the boys have already caught their attention.

The ā€œgrandmasā€ perfectly dance to the song with their moves being both funny and nicely choreographed at the same time.

The boys are not only wearing women’s clothes, makeup, and wigs, but they have also worked on looking like proper women by adding stuffing in certain areas.

At some point, one of the students falls on the floor and does ā€œthe worm,ā€ which makes the audience go crazy cheering and clapping.

The boys then continue their performance, giving it all and living the moment.

Many of their moves cause laughter to the audience and this is exactly what they wanted- to draw the attention and entertain the peers, teachers, and parents attending the show.

In the end, another student dressed up as an old man enters the scene. He walks by the ā€œwomenā€ looking at them, while they are trying to seduce him. Finally, he reaches the one he’s come for, kneels, and asks her to marry him.

The grandmas leave, all still single except the one that just got engaged!

The audience gives the students their warmest applause.

The video has been viewed by thousands, which is amazing given that it’s just a school performance.

YouTube users also wrote positive comments below it.

ā€œI love the ending that was sweet,ā€ someone wrote, while another user commented: ā€œlol [I] was sitting in my chair saying ā€˜GO GRANDMA, GO GRANDMAā€™ā€.
