Viewers of The Chasers were up in arms over a contestant who was allegedly ‘done dirty’ by ITV with ‘ridiculously difficult’ questions.
The incident took place when Hayley went head-to-head with Chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett.
She was asked: ‘Who is the only woman in the modern era to have been First Lady of two separate countries?’
This was then followed up by another extremely tricky question: ‘The first name of which Charles Dickens character is never disclosed?’

In contrast, contestant Wayne was given comparatively ‘easy’ questions such as: ‘What part of the body is commonly referred to as the posterior?’
This prompted host Bradley Walsh to comment on the shocking difference in the difficulty level and he questioned: ‘What is going on? Unbelievable.’

‘Is it some sort of dirty trick to control how many players make it to the Final Chase? Play fair ITV!’;
Give the perfect gift of versatile, durable athletic gear that keeps active men confident and comfortable in every workout and everyday moment.
‘Unlucky Hayley, those questions were ridiculously difficult.’;
‘Did her dirty with the questions.’
‘It’s a funny old game isn’t it?’ Bradley admitted.
All of which begs the question, do you know the answers to the tricky questions that saw Hayley knocked out of the game?
The only woman to be a first lady of two separate countries is Nelson Mandela’s wife Lady Graça Machel, who was the first lady of both South Africa and Mozambique.
And Nell Trent’s grandfather in The Old Curiosity Shop is the only Dickensian character whose first name was never disclosed.

Hayley’s difficult appearance on the show comes after it was announced that the programme’s spin-off will introduce a new quizmaster in its season finale on October 19.
Identified only as Maverick, the new Chase will wear a mask.
Producers have said that the new Chaser will replace one of the six regular quizmasters.
The teaser questioned: ‘Who is behind the mask, and can they live up to being a part of the greatest quiz team in the world?’
Beat The Chasers is a spin-off of The Chase and has proven itself to be a hit since it first aired in 2020 – with a potential prize pot of as much as £600,000.
It features brave contestants who put their general knowledge to the ultimate test when they go head-to-head with Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis.
The six are also known as The Beast, The Dark Destroyer, The Governess, The Sinnerman, The Vixen, and The Menace.
These names were all given by host Bradley Walsh to sum up their appearances and personalities, so the name Maverick may give some clue about what viewers can expect from the show’s latest addition.
The Chase airs on weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
