New details have been released in the death of Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets.
According to a report from the Lake Havasu Police Department, per The Bee News, on Wednesday, April 22, Sheets, 67, was discovered deceased in his home with a “gunshot wound to the head.” While the injury appeared to be self-inflicted, an official cause of death has not been publicly released at this time.
“This incident remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available,” the report continued. “Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lake Havasu City Police Department at 928-855-1171.”

Hours before his death, Sheets was seen smiling in a photo with fans around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, per TMZ. A witness told the outlet that he seemed “upbeat and friendly” during the interaction.
As Globe previously reported, Sheets died during the early hours of April 22.
After the news of his death made headlines, Sheets’ Storage Wars costar Rene Nezhoda revealed that he’d been the target of cyberbullying recently.
“This is not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life,” Nezhoda, 49, said in an Instagram Reel. “I know Darrell would want something positive out of this. He had a guy really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him].”

Darrell Sheets’ cause of death was suicide. That’s according to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, which told USA Todaythat “authorities found Sheets dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in the city at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22.”
According to USA Today, Sheets, 67, “died in his home in western Arizona.” His death is under investigation, USA Today reported. When police arrived, they discovered “a male with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” Fox News reported.

Fox News reported that police confirm they are investigating accusations of cyberbullying in a possible connection with Sheets’ death. In an Instagram video, Storage Wars’ star Rene Nezhoda raised the cyberbullying concerns.
Sheets had some significant health problems over the years, and he was open about them.
According to Variety, Sheets suffered a heart attack in 2019. He then opened an antiques and collectibles business in that community after retiring from the show. Variety noted that Sheets was a fixture on Storage Wars from 2013 through 2023.

In December, he wrote on Instagram, “Havasu has just received another similar truck load of gas signs , flange signs , and neons 1545 industrial blvd LHC we are buying hot rods gas pumps , arcade stuff come ck us out Happy Holidays.”
Fans filled that post, his last, with tributes. “Darrell, you had a lot of fans that would have listened. RIP,” wrote one. “Rest in peace. Mental health is not cared about enough, especially in men,” wrote another.
“You will be missed so much. May God keep Brandon, Tiffany, Kim and your little grand children in his love and comfort. You were my best neighbor ever,” a former neighbor wrote of Sheets’ family.
Wrote another fan: “Im so sorry for what you were going through. I hope you’re doing better wherever you are.” A person wrote in a comment directed toward his son, “Brando- your dad was a superstar!!! He is in you! RIP to the WOW factor.”
