Beat The Chasersâ Paul Sinha hits back at viewers after major backlash over âunfairâ question
BEAT The Chasers brainbox Paul Sinha has opened up on the âabsolute uproarâ over a question on the late Patrick Swayze.
The Chase star, 51, hedged his bets and interrupted host Bradley Walsh as he began to ask: âWhat Patrick Swayze film became a West End musicalâŚâ

The ITV quiz guru was quick to buzz, and stated: âDirty Dancing!â, the movie in which the actor hunk played dancer Johnny Castle.
Yet Paul was told his answer was incorrect â as contestant Steven made the most of the blunder to claim the cash.
The correct answer was deemed to be Ghost, the iconic rom com starring Patrick alongside Demi Moore.
Fans were incessant as they branded the nature of the question âunfairâ â as both movies have been re-imagined on the stage.

In an attempt to clarify the frenzy, Paul took to Twitter to write: âThat was episode 1. When weâre chasing the game, mistakes are made. But that Dirty Dancing/Ghost call was brutal.
âJust to clarify, the Swayze q hadnât finished.â
He then added: âThere was going to be a year in the second part of the question.â
Fans still werenât convinced, as one replied: âIâm surprised that question got through checks tbh. Dirty Dancing is a correct answer (unless I misheard some detail in the question).â
Another wrote: âThatâs what I thought! Patrick Swayze was the male lead in both films and Dirty Dancing is a musical in the West End â I donât understand!?â
Another then shared: âGlad he won but the Patrick Swayze question was really unfair as Iâve seen Dirty Dancing in the theatre. #BeatTheChasers.â
One claimed: âOoh theyâre rattled! But I think that Swayze question was unfair,â as another followed up: âAbsolute uproar about the Patrick Swayze musical question! Was that question written incorrectly? Iâm sure something went wrong there.â
Beat The Chasers is a spin-off show of popular ITV show, The Chase.
Hosted by Bradley, viewers get to see contestants and Chasers go head to head.
Unlike The Chase, Beat the Chasers sees contestants take on up to five contestants all at once.
Bradley calls contestants out of the studio audience to compete in Beat the Chasers.
In the Cash Builder round, the contestants will face five multiple-choice questions and have the chance to bank up to ÂŁ5,000.
But if they get the first question wrong â theyâre out.

Asked if he was surprised that the contestants dared to take on all five Chasers, Paul previously said: âOf course not! Everyone likes a challengeâ
Adding, âTV quizzing requires skill, judgement and luck. Sometimes all three come in.â
