Tonight’s broadcast will be the final episode of the historic Late Night franchise, which originally debuted in 1993 with host David Letterman, after CBS canceled the show back in July.
Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen will air in the 11:35 p.m. slot, beginning on Friday, May 22. The Jon Kelley-hosted comedy game show Funny You Should Ask will follow, airing back-to-back episodes from 12:36-1:36 a.m. ET.
The final two weeks of The Late Show have been filled with high-profile guests, with Bruce Springsteen stopping by to perform on the penultimate episode and Colbert’s fellow late-night hosts — Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver, aka Strike Force Five — dropping by to bid farewell to their friend.
